Where have all the Frankels gone?
Anyway, I see that Tom Dascombe has a Frankel offspring racing this week. Well, this chestnut colt has been declared to run at Sandown on Friday.
The Bet And Watch at 188 Bet (co.uk) EBF Maiden Stakes (7f)
At the moment there are 43 entrants with a maximum 16. We noted Frankadore on Frankel Blog back in April.
This April foal is out of a talented mare called Adoration who raced 19 times achieving 8 wins, placed 3 times. A successful mare (now 19-year-olds) who won £1,239,900 on the track. She was trained by David Hofmans in the ownership of Amermans Racing Stables LLC until December 29th 2002. She won twice at Grade 1. Racing over six-and-a-half furlongs to one mile one furlong. Exceptional.
As we noted before, it is intriguing to consider why Frankadore cost just 100,000 guineas when purchased by SackvilleDonald at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale (Book 1) 2017. Consider the stud fee for Frankel is set at £175,000. Perhaps Frankadore was on the small side or something of an ugly duckling. Certainly, the price tag suggests something less desirable. However, handsome is as handsome does. Not sure if that saying goes for equine but here goes. Anyway, I'm sure Manor House Stables are proud to train a Frankel and they will do well with this April foal. He runs in the ownership of Clyn Dance Mound.
Frankadore has no significant two-year-old entries but declared for the first stage of the Epsom Derby Group 1.
Tom Dascombe has done well this season with his juveniles. Arthur Kitt successful on both starts to date. This daughter of Ceiling Kitty won the Chesham Stakes (Listed Race) at Royal Ascot. Other horses worthy of note include Light My Fire, Jackstar & Drogon.
Best wishes to connections if heading to Sandown this Friday.
