Frankel Horse Racing Blog is almost a year old. It has risen in the search engine rankings for a few keywords ''Frankel Blog'' and ''Frankel Racing Blog'' and actually the top ranked on Google for the latter.
In that sense, it is good news, as it does achieve traffic from Google which isn't the case for a few other websites I run.
We had a good number of posts last year but, in truth, we were finding out feet. In the end, we dedicated the blog to Frankel's offspring and the two-year-olds. It is an exciting age group and lots of potential stars of the future. I must admit, last season's batch of juveniles left a lot to be desired with only a small number of winners let alone much group-class action. Kevin Ryan's East seemed about as good as it got winning as pattern class in France and then headed over the pond when a distant runners up in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf race at Churchill Downs.
I can imagine Juddmonte Farm will be feeling a bit apprehensive what happens this season because if it is as bad as last year I can see Frankel's reputation diminishing and at such a hefty stallion fee of £175,000 any yearlings going through the sales will be scrutinized. Let's hope there are a few stars waiting in the wings.
The future of Frankel blog
This new season will be following the two-year-olds more closely. Fingers crossed a few horses with ability appear because there is little excitement to be gain from writing about losses or this or that horse is racing at nursery class.
For those who want to drive into the prospects, take a look here at Frankel's two-year-olds for 2019.
