Well, Kevin Ryan may have a decent juvenile to go to war with in the shape of Juan Elcano, who is a chestnut son of Frankel which cost 360,000 guineas at the yearling sales. Ryan is no stranger to talented two-year-olds as we have seen this 2019 turf flat season with the like of Rhea, who races in the same ownership of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
You can take a look at this talented filly here.
Anyway, let's get back to Juan Elcano who is entered to run on the 7th June at 8:00 Haydock over 7f (6f 212y). Take a look at the betting for the British Stallions Stud EBF Novice Stake (Plus 10 Race) (Class 4) (2yo). At the time of writing, this April foal is priced 5/2 in a small field of 6 runners. Bar one form horse of Richard Fahey's, it looks an ideal opportunity.
Readers of Frankel Blog will remember how last year Ryan achieved great success with East, who went on to conclude her two-year-old career in the United States when runner-up at Churchill Downs in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile's Fillies Turf when beaten by wonder horse Newspaperofrecord. This Group 1 campaigner is entered to run at Royal Ascot in the Coronation Stakes (Group 1) (21st June 2019).
Just as an extra bonus, we can reveal another Frankel-sired two-year-old for the Flat season 2019 who is yet to race. Zabeel King who is a full-brother to East, out of the mare Vital Statistics.
