What a prize for Frankel offspring, K Abdullah, Roger Charlton, and Juddmonte Farm. So we waited for the cherry on the top of the cake and Quadrilateral proved just that by winning the Fillies' Mile (Group 1) at Newmarket.
Roger Charlton's daughter of Frankel out of the mare Nimble Thimble. Quadrilateral made it three out of three victories winning at the highest level by a head in a gutsy display, running from off the pace to collar Hugo Palmer's Powerful Breeze who looked likely to take the spoils.
Quadrilateral is now favourite to take the 1000 Guineas.
Roger Charlton's chestnut filly made a pleasing debut at Newbury winning by a neck at odds of 7/2. This was followed by an impressive nine-length victory when returning to the Berkshire track. This April foal saved the best till last winning the Fillies' Mile (Group 1). The 9/4 favourite ran on with spirit after Powerful Breeze set sail for home and held a distinct advantage at the furlong pole.
To add to the merit of Frankel as a super stallion, we saw Roger Varian's Queen Daenerys finish respectable sixth place. This daughter of Frankel was beaten just over five lengths, plugging on in the fashion of a horse that needs a greater test of stamina and may well be an Oaks candidate come next year.
Quadrilateral has achieved an official rating of 113 and total prize winnings of £336,564.
Congratulations to connections.
